Parkland, Florida

On May 27, 2023, a 28 year old assailant, armed with two rifles and a handgun approached the locked front doors of a school and made an immediate and unimpeded entry into the building by shooting out the glass and climbing inside. For the next 16 minutes they engaged in the indiscriminate and unconscionable violence that has become commonplace at locations believed to be “soft targets.”

Over 150 rounds were fired, and despite the heroic actions of law enforcement to respond immediately and stop the threat, three innocent children and three innocent adults died. Active shooting incidents are characterized by perpetrators like the one in Nashville, with open access to numerous vulnerable persons. At ADS we prevent access and protect vulnerabilities.
